How Proseafarers collects, uses, and protects your data.
Data we collect
We collect the information you provide when creating an account (name, email, contact details), professional data uploaded via your CV (rank, sea service, certificates, education, languages), and usage data such as pages visited, jobs viewed, and applications submitted. We also collect device identifiers and approximate location for security and analytics.
How we store your data
Your data is stored on encrypted servers located in the European Economic Area. CVs and supporting documents are stored in encrypted object storage. Access is restricted to authorized Proseafarers personnel and is logged. We retain account data for as long as your account is active, and for up to 24 months thereafter for legal and operational reasons.
How we share your data
When you apply to a job, your profile and CV are shared with the hiring company. We never sell your personal data to third parties. We use trusted sub-processors for hosting, email delivery, analytics, and payments — each bound by data processing agreements. We may disclose data when required by law or to protect the rights and safety of users.
Your rights
You can access, correct, export, or delete your data at any time from Settings → Account. You may withdraw consent for marketing communications, restrict processing, or object to specific uses. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority. To exercise any right, contact privacy@martide.com.
Cookie policy
We use strictly necessary cookies to keep you signed in and remember your preferences. With your consent, we use analytics cookies to understand how the product is used and improve it. We do not use advertising cookies. You can manage your cookie preferences from the cookie banner shown on first visit, or by clearing your browser storage.
